What are these worth?

I've got a pair of 846B Altec speakers. They have the built in H-811B Horns with 806-8A drivers. One appears to have been replaced because the serial number is much higher.

One woofer looks like a 515C but there are no markings on it. The woofer in the other speaker has been replaced with an unmarked brand name.

Both speaker cases are in nice shape. I've had them for over twenty years and the wife has ordered them out of the house to make room. I have no idea of their worth and/or where to try and sell them. Any help would be appreciated. I have several pictures I can send.

uh....keep them, replace the one woofer, and you'll not likely ever have better sounding speakers

Woofers should be 416 A or Zs and serial numbers of the 806 drivers is pretty much a non issue.

Cabinet condition and the right components inside makes a big difference to potential buyers. Off Brand or improper woofers will seriously degrade the value so it is imperative that you be specific on exactly what is inside of these before any one could even venture a guess to the value.

Big speakers are always easier to sell locally so no shipping is required but often this does not generate the full value they may have.

Actually in 846B which are entirely 8 ohm, the stock woofer should be a large frame 416-8A(usually, i understand early 846B's used the small frame 416-8A).

If they have to go, and have non matching components, i'd part them out on ebay, listing all the pairs of components as pairs, as that's how you'll net the biggest return on them.

Just my .02 y'all understand................
